Domestic research trends related to vocational rehabilitation for the disabled: From 1997 to 2017

|
This study aimed to examine the research trends in the research trends of the vocational rehabilitation papers published in the journals of the vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in terms of year, theme, research method, subjects. The purpose of this study is to present the direction of future vocational rehabilitation research based on the results. For this purpose, we analyzed 92 studies on vocational rehabilitation in the domestic journals from 1997 to 2017. The results of the study are as follows: First, as a result of analyzing research subjects, research methods, data collection methods, and research subjects for each year, the tendency of research subjects was half of the papers on the practice of vocational rehabilitation. The field of practice has been steadily researched since 2003 as the number of researches has increased. Prior to the 2000s, research on policies and theories was conducted, and in 2003, it expanded to various fields. Especially, the field of practice has been studied steadily over time. Research methods accounted for nearly half of the research. Literature research has been actively conducted in the early 2000s, but the ratio has decreased and it has been increasing again in the late 2010s. Second, research methods, data collection methods, analysis results, theoretical fields and practice fields are using various research methods according to research subjects, and policy fields are mainly analyzed through literature research. As a method of collecting data according to the research subject, various fields of data collection were utilized in the field of theoretical and practical fields. As a result of analyzing the research subjects according to research subjects, researches were conducted mainly on the disabled people in the field of the field and practice. Third, the data collection method according to the research method was analyzed, and the data were collected through all the methods according to the seven classification in the survey study. Qualitative research has been collecting data through other methods except for secondary data analysis. As a result of analyzing the research subjects according to the research method, the research study was conducted in all groups excluding the curriculum/program. Literature studies were targeted at disabled people, service providers, employers/co-workers, rehabilitation services organizations, and curriculum/ programs. The suggestions based on this are as follows: First, collaborative research in various fields is needed to improve the reliability and validity and to assure the quality level of research. Second, after the disabled rehabilitation counselor became a national qualification, research on the rehabilitation counselor of the disabled is needed.
